If there's such a thing as generalized anxiety, then there must also be generalized confidence. Love that!

Wow - so interesting! Do you think this can help with OCD or is specific ERP necessary in this case?

Good question. I'm not sure, but my hunch is it would help.

I love this piece!!! I could’ve really used this type of therapy as a kid. I’ll remind myself of that over the next few months as I go through this type of therapy as an adult - ha!!

It's pretty much the same at any age: Getting out of a comfort zone and realizing one's own capabilities/strength. (And other people perhaps seeing it, too!)

GOOD LUCK!!!

If a child never gets to do things on his or her own, they are therefore utterly dependent on others. No wonder they become anxious. In that situation, I would be in constant fear of losing contact with those on whom I was dependent and very anxious indeed. It makes sense that being encouraged to do things independently would give the child a chance to build confidence, which is contrary to anxiety. I’m glad you noticed this and are seriously spreading the word.

Great quick piece!

My childhood, and all my nieces and nephews, in summary. Excellent.
